A Pink and Gold Dinosaur 3rd Birthday

Charlotte roared through her 3rd Birthday with a pink and gold dinosaur party, and it was a celebration to remember!

By now, you all know that I love creating memories for my grandchildren, and with proper planning and creativity, I can do just that. I always say that as children grow older, they won’t remember the gifts they received, but they will always cherish the memories of the party, and of course, the cake! As with all birthday parties, I allow my grandkids to choose the cake, and I use it as a starting point to plan the party’s theme. Charlotte loves dinosaurs, and I thought that would be such a fun theme!

My starting point for the party, besides the cake, was these adorable pink dinosaur plates and napkins I found on Etsy. Aren’t they so cute?

Since this gathering was a small family affair, I wanted the table centerpiece to be the focus of the party. I began by thrifting dinosaurs and greenery. I found several dinosaurs thrifting and sprayed them with antique gold spray paint. I added a touch of whimsy with these tutus I found on Etsy.

Dinosaurs lived in lush, tree-filled jungles, so I needed to recreate that look, but buying greenery was not in the budget. I was on the hunt for greenery when I was out thrifting and found a greenery arrangement that was disassembled. You can also go to the dollar store and purchase greenery or use fresh, depending on your budget. Then I made dinosaur eggs out of paper mâché and filled them with moss, flowers, and little dinosaurs.

The cake table backdrop was the silk greenery I mentioned, silk flowers hot-glued to fishing line. I added a fig tree I already had and this sweet dinosaur balloon arrangement I found on Etsy.

The buffet table was complete with dinosaur bones for digging, herbivore and carnivore platters, and dinosaur claws.

It was heartwarming to see the birthday girl so excited to wear her pink dinosaur birthday dress I had made on Etsy. Just to see her face was priceless.

What was even more priceless was the dancing dinosaur that came to the door and surprised us all. Life is not always easy; sometimes, it can be hard. But creating these life memories is priceless.
