A Peek Inside Olivia’s Enchanting ‘French Fairytale’ Nursery”

I am SO excited to finally share our sweet granddaughter’s “French Fairytale” nursery with you. I have to say I loved decorating all my grandchildren’s nurseries but there is something special about this one, partly because it is the last one I will do for my own grandchildren but also because it uses elements from my first granddaughter’s nursery…oh the memories. I just wish time would slow down.

There are elements on this project I have taken from different inspiration photos on Pinterest and some of my favorite bloggers. My daughter-in-law wanted me to achieve a classic budget friendly nursery that my granddaughter can grow into. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

I think what I love most about this room is the shadow box molding we added to the walls.  If you’re looking to add some character to a boring wall I highly recommend this, and it is easy to install. Well not for me but for my son and husband haha!  For the paint color I chose Sherwin Williams, Malted Milk. My daughter-in-law wanted pink and Malted Milk is a much softer pink which is perfect for this French inspired look. I designed the boxes to frame in the Bellina crib from Restoration Hardware and the wall sconces. I did not want to pay to have the sconces hardwired so my daughter-in-law found these battery-powered sconces on Amazon, along with this hardwired French inspired chandelier. I just love this lighting.

As for the vintage French inspired furniture, the pieces are thrifted finds from Facebook Marketplace which my son refinished and antiqued to match the crib and rocker. The knobs on both the dresser and the closet were from Hobby Lobby and I think they really tie the vintage look together. As for the accessories, the mirror was a vintage find, and the artwork over the bed I found on Etsy.

If you are going for a similar vintage look for your baby nursery, check out second hand and thrift stores. Below are the links to the items I used to complete the nursery.

  1. Beautiful! I love that the walls are more of a rose shade and not bubble-gum pink. I like the ballerina picture.
